In a season marked by quiet expectation and deep longing, Advent invites us to sit in the mystery of the "not yet"—to wait with hope for the light that has come, is coming, and will come again. This retreat offers sacred space to reflect on the light of Christ that shines in the darkness, both around us and within us. Through scripture, music, poetry, art, prayer, silence, and conversation, we will explore how the Advent journey renews our hope and strengthens our hearts to carry the light into a weary world. Come as you are—whether you're waiting in joy, sorrow, clarity, or confusion—and encounter the Holy One who meets us in the waiting with light and love.

A simple soup and bread lunch will be provided. Space availalbe for 22 participants. For a full or partial scholarship, please send an email to 2innerground@gmail.com and we will gladly process your request and registration.

Retreat Leader: Marjorie Donnelly

Marjorie Donnelly is a graduate of the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Spiritual Guidance, a member of Spiritual Directors International, and a member of the Shalem Society for Contemplative Leadership. She has 14 years of teaching and counseling experience in public education and is a certified Enneagram teacher in the Narrative Enneagram and certified Veriditas labyrinth facilitator. She has provided spiritual direction and led retreats and workshops since 2000. Marjorie presently serves as Director of Children’s and Family Ministries at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Greensboro, NC.
