40 Days of Practice

Chapter 5 is a short invitation to the 40 days of practice. The title of this chapter says it all - “practice, not perfection.” It invites us to be gentle with ourselves, to offer ourselves grace and to stay curious in this process.

Trent’s invitation to practice for 3 minutes is pure wisdom! Lean into that invitation. It’s a way of setting yourself up for success with this.

A few suggestions and resources that we shared at our gathering last week:

  • consider downloading an app on your phone to support your practice. I love Meditation Timer. It’s easy to set up with the particulars for your specific practice - including how many minutes you want to practice.

  • If 3 minutes feels like a stretch, then consider starting with less time and see what you notice. If you’d like to do more, then do! This is your practice.

  • Use the space on each daily practice page to jot down some reflections from your meditation practice.

  • Consider sharing some of your reflections here on our blog page. It’s a great way for us to support one another as we practice individually.
